Job Description Overview

A Broadband Support and Help Desk Specialist helps customers and service technicians with technical issues associated with internet services.  They troubleshoot, identify, and resolve problems appropriately and proficiently.  Support Specialists should possess strong communication skills, be patient and handle customer requests with understanding and tact. They document customer interactions and escalate issues to higher support tiers, if necessary.  Overall, the Broadband Support and Help Desk Specialist job consists of providing excellent customer support, identifying and resolving technical problems promptly, and documenting customer interactions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to customers via phone, email, or in-person.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues to related hardware, software, or network connectivity.
• Log and track all customer interactions in help desk systems and MACC database.
• Prioritize and escalate more complex issues to higher-level technical support teams.
• Assist with installation, configuration and support of the network and peripheral devices.
• Follow up with customers to ensure issue resolution and customer satisfaction.
• Continuously improve technical skills and knowledge through training and self-study.

Experience and Education Requirements

A Broadband Support and Help Desk Specialist typically requires a mix of education and experience. You’ll need a high school diploma and experience working with computers, software, and networks. Ideally, you’ll have at least one year of experience working in a customer service role.
